The Band of The Royal British Legion Leiston is situated in Suffolk and is the only Legion band in the County.

We play a wide repertoire of music and undertake a variety of engagements, playing for many local events as well as giving regular concerts.

Being near to the Suffolk coast we often play at tourist spots in the area.

Only a few miles away is the famous Snape Maltings concert hall and we have had the pleasure of playing there on several occasions, being delighted at one concert to play under guest conductor Imogen Holst.

We have kept up our tradition of being a marching band and undertake many ceremonials for the Royal British Legion, playing for County and Group rallies, Remembrance services & parades and the Poppy Race Day at Newmarket. We also give regular concerts in aid of the Poppy Appeal fund.

Contesting is another of our activities. We are a member of the East Anglian Brass Band Association and although contesting is not high on our agenda, we have been successful in winning numerous prizes at area level and were placed third in the National Royal British Legion Band competition.

We also have a thriving Training section which encourages young people to take up music and offers them the opportunity to play together as a band.
